No hat and no horse

I had hoped to blog about what a wonderful time I had at the 2nd Annual Kentucky Derby Party this evening. After all, I had such a blast last year strutting around in my big hat, sipping delicious chardonnay, and devouring the Kentucky inspired barbecue against the backdrop of the Lafayette River. I’ve been anticipating this event for months! But alas. I’m into almost 3 months of recovery from an “out-patient” procedure gone awry. So, looks like I’ll be watching the most exciting 2 minutes in sports not on a jumbo screen, but on our humble 37-incher, with my darling fiancé, a glass of wine, and some grilled shrimp. Maybe I’ll wear my hat.
